Welcome to the official merger webpage for Idaho Central Credit Union (ICCU) and Tucson Old Pueblo Credit Union (TOPCU). We are excited to share that both credit unions have entered discussions to create a stronger, united organization dedicated to enhancing community engagement and member opportunities across Arizona, Idaho, and Washington.

What This Means for You

TOPCU members can look forward to an expanded range of financial products and services, backed by ICCU’s extensive network of over 60 branches across three states. Our combined efforts will ensure continued local leadership and community reinvestment, bringing new and enhanced opportunities to better serve the financial needs of Tucson residents.

A Message from Our Leadership

  • Brenda Worrell, ICCU CEO:
ICCU is very excited by the opportunity to expand our membership, branch, and team member network through a merger with TOPCU. A combined organization would maintain local leadership, increase community investment, and enhance opportunities to serve Tucson residents through a broader range of financial products and services.
  • Vern Babilon, TOPCU CEO:
“For nearly 90 years, TOPCU has served Tucson with unwavering commitment. By merging with ICCU, we will strengthen that legacy while giving our members access to an even broader range of services and opportunities.”

Next Steps: Member Vote

TOPCU members will have the opportunity to vote on the merger between November and January. We strongly encourage a YES vote as it will bring valuable benefits to you and our Tucson community. By voting YES, you are supporting the expansion of financial products, increased community investment, and more opportunities for our local team members. CEO Advisory Group has served as the financial advisor throughout this process, ensuring the best possible outcomes for both organizations.

Here are three key benefits members can look forward to if the merger is approved:

    1. Improved Technology: ICCU brings advanced banking technologies, including more mobile app features, making managing your finances easier and more convenient.
    2. Rates & Fees: By combining our organizations, we will be able to offer more competitive rates and overall lower fees, improving your financial experience.
    3. Convenient Access & Additional Products: You will gain access to over 60 branches across three states in addition to face-to-face VideoChat services which allow you to open new accounts, perform account transactions, and much more. ICCU also offers a wider array of financial products, while still providing the same cheerful, personalized service you’ve come to expect from TOPCU.

Be sure to participate in this important decision to help shape the future of your credit union.

If the merger is approved, the official consolidation is expected to take place in February 2025, bringing together the best of both organizations to serve nearly 700,000 members.
